¡ MUCHAS GRACIAS !

just received a package from pedros, usa. they supplied some of their fabulous tools for my ride.

the new trixie is an integrated lockring and 15mm axle-nut wrench.
all you need to fix your fixie.

critical mass is a super light multitool.

and some other useful stuff for the trip.

THE BIKE - UPDATE

with the kind support from bike syndikat my bike is now ready to roll.
changed the flat bars to bullhorns, attached the rack for the carradice bag and put the new tyres on. the schwalbe durano plus are comfy but still fast. the bag changed the balance of the bike a bit but you can still do trackstands and stuff like this. it's harder to do skid-stops due to increased weight on the backwheel, so it's a good decision to have a front brake..
I'll test the setup this and the following week to make sure everything is working.

edit: here are some pictures:

before leaving for the trip I'll be off to berlin for the ecmc'09, so expect to see some pictures next week.

that was a lot of fun, here are some pics. enjoy!

SUNDAY RIDE

did a short training ride with the lady today. rode with my heavy loaded messenger bag and I'm really happy with my decision to take the carradice bag on tour instead.

THANK YOU SUE

received a package from carradice today, they handcraft saddlebags and panniers from sustainable material such as waxed canvas cotton and leather. they hooked me up with a nelson saddlebag, can't wait to put it on my bike. big thank you to the guys at carradice!
haven't done a lot of training rides on my fixed gear, but I was on my road bikes a lot. now that have the bag, I'll get into planning the gear for the tour and do some training rides with the fully loaded bike, so stay tuned for more.

BLACK GOLD

the guys at SCHWALBE hooked me up with a set of tyres for my trip.
thank you!
I chose the Durano Plus folding tyres in 700x25c for a little comfort on the rough belgian roads. I hope they hold up well, they are supposed to have excellent puncture resistance and high mileage. I'll post a review about the tyres after my trip.
